Dr. Messina is a cornea consultant ophthalmic surgeon at the Eye Clinic of S. Maria della Misericordia Hospital, Perugia, Italy.
He achieved his medical degree (2008) and his residency in Ophthalmology both with praise at the University of Perugia, Italy. He obtained a 2 years Corneal clinical research fellow (2015-2017) and then he achieved the prestigious 1 year Fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment Surgery (2017-2018) at the Queen’s Medical Centre, University of Nottingham, UK, under the supervision of Professor Harminder Dua.
He performed many cataract surgeries and cornea transplants (Penetrating keratoplasty, Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty and Endothelial keratoplasty).
He participated as invited speaker in many national and international meetings.
He is Author and Co-Author of more than 30 publications in international peer reviewed journals.
