Ciro Costagliola is currently working at the Department of Ophthalmology, Federico II University of Naples, Italy. He has previously held appointments within the Departments of Ophthalmology at the University of Ferrara and the University of Molise, with a position of Head of the Department of Medicine, Dean of the Faculty and PhD course coordinator in Translational Medicine. Prof. Costagliola received his degree (magna cum laude) in Medicine and Surgery at the Federico II University of Naples in 1981 and specialized in Ophthalmology (magna cum laude) at the same University in 1985. His major clinical and research interests include glaucoma, vascular diseases and corneal dystrophies. He has been principal investigator in many international clinical trials and has authored/co-authored over 350 peer-reviewed scientific articles and twelve books. Prof. Costagliola has received national and international awards for his contributions to scientific research and he is currently editorial board member and reviewer for many international journals.
