Michele Coppola is Head Physician of Ophthalmology at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, Italy.

An expert of clinical retinal pathology, as eye surgeon he treats vitreo-retinal disorders, specializing in retinal detachment, macular diseases and diabetic retinopathy and applying state-of-the-art treatment technologies and techniques (esp. 25-27 Gauges instrumentation) to achieve a minimally invasive surgery.

Other surgical and research interests include the treatment of anterior segment diseases, from corneal transplants to cataracts and glaucoma, and, in pediatric field, the treatment of pre-term infant’s pathologies, developmental problems involving the retina, and patients suffering from syndromic disorders, such as Crouzon Syndrome.

He is a recipient of the ASRS Best Video Award and founder of the MCOpht School of Ophthalmic Surgery for permanent educational training.
