He specialises in oculoplastic surgery and trained in ophthalmology and plastic surgery in the United Kingdom before doing an oculoplastic fellowship in San Francisco.
He has been past president of both the British and European Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Societies.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of Orbit and Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology and is a member of various national and international ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery societies.
He has written 3 textbooks, given more than 20 named lectures and published over 200 articles as well as various book chapters on oculoplastic subjects.
