Georgios Blatsios, MD,PhD, studied medicine at the University of Athens-Greece and was trained in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery at the Ophthalmology University Clinics of Patras-Greece, Tübingen- and Charite-Berlin-Germany, Innsbruck-Austria as well at the St. Pauls Eye Unit in Liverpool-UK. Since 2008 he is holding a consultant position at the Department of Ophthalmology, Innsbruck Medical University, Austria. He is specialising in cataract and vitreoretinal surgery, ophthalmic trauma, intraocular tumours and tumours of the ocular surface as well as electrophysiology of vision. Furthermore he is the author / co-author of several scientific publications and is a graduate of the SOE Leadership Development Programme.
