03_AIM-Group_Slider_3rdASA_Barcelona

The ESASO Anterior Segment Academy is a world-class forum on the diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment diseases. From Friday 21 to Saturday 22 April next year, the Instituto de Microcirugía Ocular (IMO) is delighted to host the 2017 Academy.
Located in Barcelona, Spain, the IMO is a leading ophthalmological institution boasting state-ofthe-art facilities and audio-visual equipment. The focus of next year’s Academy is on the science, diagnosis, and management of dry eye disease and selective corneal surgery. Internationally renowned specialists in corneal and ocular surface surgery and dry eye management will share their knowledge and discuss the latest scientific developments and technical advances in corneal and ocular surface surgery. Long focused lectures will provide in-depth insight into a range of topics including the management of the ocular surface before and after the implantation of high technology IOLs, anterior lamellar surgery utilising the latest laser technology, posterior lamellar surgery, and future approaches for epithelial and endothelial culturing and stimulation. In addition, delegates will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in focused wet labs, and interact with the expert panel in ‘nearlive’ surgery sessions and case presentation sessions – with several cases presented in 3D!

About Barcelona

ABOUT-MILAN

Barcelona is one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world.

Barcelona is the cradle of Catalan culture, amongst many other cultures and civilizations, and a witness to major transformations such as the Industrial Revolution or the Civil War amongst many others, Barcelona has a fascinating history.

It has a huge number of attractions including a city center which retains its medieval street plan; some stunning modernist architecture including several buildings by Gaudí – Spain’s most famous architect; dozens of museums including one dedicated to Picasso, another to Miró and yet another to Barça, Barcelona’s world famous football club!

Barcelona is almost as lively at night as it is during the day and it has a unique, exciting atmosphere, which provides the visitor with a truly unforgettable experience.

The city enjoys an almost perfect climate making it an ideal place to be at any time of the year. It even has its own sandy beaches, which are less than 15 minutes away from the school.

The city’s geographical position also makes it the easiest (and cheapest) Spanish city to reach from the rest of Europe and there are direct flights from most cities in the world to its prize-winning international airport.
