Dr. Lupidi is a medical retina consultant at the Eye Clinic of S. Maria della Misericordia Hospital, Perugia, Italy and translational surgery PhD fellow at the Department of Biochemical and Surgical Sciences (Section of Ophthalmology) of the University of Perugia, Italy.

He achieved his medical degree with praise (2009) at the University of Perugia and his residency in Ophthalmology with praise at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy) under the supervision of Prof. Alfonso Giovannini. He obtained a medical retina clinical research fellow (2014-2015) at Centre D’Exploration Ophtalmologique de L’Odeon, Paris, France under the supervision of Prof. Gabriel Coscas. His interests include the retinal multimodal and advanced imaging and both medical and surgical treatments of retinal diseases.

Dr. Lupidi has been investigator in several multi-centric trials and participated as invited speaker in many national and international meetings. He is Author as Principal or co-investigator of more than 55 publications in international peer reviewed journals, many of them on the clinical applications of OCT and OCT-Angiography.

Dr. Lupidi achievements include: the “Mario Laureati Award”, the first prize of “Ordine dei medici chirurghi ed odontoiatri di Perugia”, the “French Retina Society Award”, the “Società Italiana Laser in Oftalmologia (S.I.L.O.) / ARVO Travel Grant”, the “SOI Best Poster Prize” at the 96th SOI National Congress and the “Mario Gelsomino SOI Award” during the 16th International SOI meeting. He is member of several prestigious societies such as: Società Oftalmologica Italiana, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Euretina (European Society of Retina Specialists), Societe Francaise de Retine, Societe Francaise d’Ophtalmologie, Association for Vision and Research in Ophthalmology (ARVO).
