Special research interests: The surgical management of refractory glaucomas, specifically anti-proliferative trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage devices.

Sub-specialist interests and research
Peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and review articles in secondary glaucomas, uveitis and external disease.

1. Secondary glaucomas, particularly the aetiology & management of uveitic glaucoma. Keith Barton runs a joint glaucoma / uveitis clinic in collaboration with the uveitis specialists, Professor Susan Lightman, Mr Carlos E Pavesio, Mr Mark Westcott and Miss Narciss Okhravi at Moorfields Eye Hospital. 

2. Outcomes of surgical management of secondary and other refractory glaucomas, in particular filtration surgery and the use of aqueous shunt implants in glaucoma. Keith Barton is actively involved in a number of international clinical research studies investigating the use of aqueous shunt implants.
